My original plan involved reviewing the duo but I have now decided to only review the shampoo, as the conditioner is mediocre. It would be unfair to let its poor performance influence the overall review score. The conditioner is awful but I refuse to dwell; to summarise hastily, avoid it! This is a review of Shea Moisture‘s Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Shampoo (384ml, £10.99), a divine investment! Sulphate free and made of certified organic ingredients, this shampoo smells unique but lovely. A lingering scent, it’s warm and sweet.
Will it hydrate your coils and curls? Yes! It’s quite similar to a co-wash. It left my hair feeling incredibly soft and moisturised, free of tangles. However, I don’t like co-washing as my hair never feels clean enough after doing so. This shampoo is brilliant at leaving one’s hair soft but squeaky clean? Definitely not! I’ll probably use it occasionally. Overall, it’s a good shampoo, perfect for anyone with damaged (dry, brittle, etc.) hair.
