In every natural hair journey there will be highs and lows. It has become an intriguing movement rapidly generating interest, positive as well as negative. One negative is brands looking to capitalise, marketing products using any term in relation to natural hair. This is the reason why I purchased Motions‘ Natural Textures Smoothing conditioner during a Superdrug splurge.
Wow, a smoothing conditioner for natural hair? Now that is something my 4A curls would love and needs. I was so wrong! I can usually tell when a hair conditioner is good by the state of my hands after use. Not only did this conditioner leave my hair in a mess, it left my hands incredibly dry as well as rough. So, where do I start with this review?
The scent was rather unpleasant. It was tolerable but definitely not my cup of tea; it is a scent of artificial notes. The consistency of the product is very deceptive. It’s thick but it just would not coat my hair. It’s hard to explain. It provides no slip, making detangling a nightmare! It’s just one of those conditioners that does nothing.
I am not one to give up on a product after one use! However, this conditioner left my hair feeling dry and thirsty after every use. I hate writing negative reviews but this conditioner is awful. I am surprised, as I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Motions. I may give other products from the range a try one day but this is rubbish! Ending on a positive note, the packaging is absolutely gorgeous!
