I have grown rather fond of John Frieda. The brand never fails to deliver. Although a beautiful sight, lightened curls and the great responsibility of painstaking maintenance go hand in hand! If it is not the vibrancy in need of a boost, it is the need for moisture restoration. This is why I felt compelled to purchase John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner. A conditioner addict, I had to purchase not one but two 250ml bottles (from Amazon, £3.55 each). The marketed guarantee was enthralling as well as persuasive; John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner hydrates and lightens your hair, restoring moisture as well as softness. Unfortunately and to my surprise, John Frieda failed to deliver their word.

The scent of John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner is in line with its highlighted ingredients, citrus and chamomile. It is rather strong and floral but it is also quite pleasant. A conditioner maven, I decided to experiment with this conditioner. I used it traditionally, right after shampooing and I instantly noticed my hair felt quite dry but soft. My curls appeared a little vibrant but not lighter. My second and last experiment involved using John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner as a pre-shampoo treatment. I left the conditioner in my hair for an hour prior to shampooing. I am most satisfied with this method as my hair looked a shade lighter and felt soft as well as moisturised.

I am relatively pleased with John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner. The consistency of this conditioner is John Frieda’s standard creamy formula, which I adore. Whilst it is not as hydrating as most conditioners I have used, it did lighten and moisturise my hair once I changed the way I used it. It is also curly hair friendly, as my curls remained defined after every use. Overall, I like John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Conditioner but I have used better and it also requires you to go out of your way to make it work.
